Relationships, personal problems and work stress can often feel very overwhelming. Therapy provides a safe space to pause and process your experience with someone who is completely present and will think with you. Through this therapeutic relationship you begin to understand yourself and your reactions at a deeper level and this can enable you to choose different ways of relating and being in the world. Ultimately the therapeutic encounter offers a space to heal and grow.
I offer both short term and long term psychodynamic therapy either in person or online. My approach is based on the understanding that those things outside of our awareness drive our thoughts and behaviours and create distress and discomfort in our everyday lives. Psychodynamic therapy helps bring these things to awareness. This approach also makes links between present day difficulties and significant early experiences. The therapeutic relationship and the consistency and reliability of the therapy is key to doing this depth work.
